…Twitter has pretty much replaced my desire to blog at length. Luckily my Twitter feed shows up just to the right of this post.
But I figured I’d add a little something here just for the hell of it.
Things have been going well the last couple of weeks. There have been a lot of good things on the go and spirits seem to be up. Life was looking pretty grim a few weeks back. They don’t look any more grim then they did before, it’s just I think I’m able to cope with a bunch the shitpile a little bit better now.
My girlfriend, Marishka, has been so great with helping me through these troubled times in many ways. She’s made all the difference in the world. Thank you Pookie!
Anyway… I’m a little too busy to be posting this right now — Lots of things to work on!
That is all… For now.

Troublesome Times
August 5th, 2009
The last few months have been very trying.
Haven’t felt like doing anything let alone write a blog post. Things aren’t exactly going the best right now and it’s had me really down for quite a while.
However… the last two or three days have been far better than any of the days in the recent months. Feel like I finally have a bit of a grip on things. Did six loads of laundry yesterday. Also cleaned my office, my work/sun-room, living room, bathroom a bedroom. The place looks pretty damn good.
Well… I’m just going to keep on keepin’ on. I’ll stop back in later.

Random Phone Calls
May 25th, 2009
It’s been rather interesting the last week or so. It seems like my site is drawing attention in some fashion or another as I’ve received two phone calls in the last week from potential client/employers.
Perhaps it’s the season or something, but I’m not exactly sure how people are finding my site — not that I’m complaining or anything of that nature.
Nonetheless, if a few of these contracts do pan out, things should start look up.
It’ll be a nice change from the rather slow wintery season that has passed.

Much ado about nothing…
April 26th, 2009
There isn’t really much on the go at the moment. Well… scratch that as there is plenty on the go, it’s just there is nothing really to report on or complain about.
This past week of work was, well, a week of work. The only real highlight I can think of is the fact that it was the first week in which we had full 8 hour days to work. With all hopes this should make more a little more healthy paycheque.
I’ve taken care of all the pressing freelance matters that needed doing. And for the first time in ages, almost all my bills are up to date. I worked my way down from well over $2000 in über-sized bills to somewhere around $400, which will be taken care of come Thursday (payday).
Also been enjoying my newfound love of Audiobooks. I downloaded the entire Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. I’ve been them enjoying it enormously. I started at the beginning, The Color of Magic and I’ve found that although I read it just a few years ago, there is much I don’t remember.
Anyway, back to the cooking of the ribs.
That is all.

Getting myself a system
April 19th, 2009
Putting your life in order is not an easy task. Especially when you have been neglecting certain aspects of it for an extended period of time like I have.
I’m finding a book I’m reading called Getting Things Done by David Allen, to be very helpful thus far. Well… I shouldn’t say reading — it’s actually an Audiobook that I downloaded to my iPhone. More about Audiobooks on another post at a later time.
My desired goal is to become more disciplined like I once was. Meeting deadlines, sticking to my word and generally being considered by my peers and clients as someone they can rely on. I used to be a lot like that several years ago, but I let that part of me slide away when I discovered how valuable my talents were. Well, as I’ve found out, one can only ride on talent for so long.
It’s not a change that is going to happen over night. Probably not in a month. It’s going to take a lot of work and a lot of determination.
That is all.

Death to an LCD
April 11th, 2009
Power outage that happened while I was staying at Maria’s last night blew out one of my LCD monitors. I’ve had two matching BenQ 19″ LCDs for about 6 years now… They’ve treated me very well over the years.
I’ve known for a while that it is time to get new ones though. Dell has a great deal on right now — 23″ LCD with 1920 x 1080 for only $209CDN. I could run two of those off my Mac Pro and it would be sweeeeeeet.
At least I’ve turned a loss into something to be excited about!
That is all.

Keepin’ on keepin’ on
April 6th, 2009
Things still seem to be moving along in a smooth, steady, upward direction.
Finished up the new Aquasure website over the weekend. Looks live I’ve scored another two web contracts as well — which should keep the boat floating for a while… Provided they actually come to fruition and turn into payments.
Everything at the nine-to-fiver is alright I suppose — the job is a wee bit soul sucking, but at least it comes with a paycheque… Or will as of the 15th.
In other news, ran into my first problem with the new terrarium. Going to delay getting the frogs in there for another week or more.
It’s 1AM now and I can’t seem to sleep for the life me. I really wish I could just zonk out, but no luck sadly.
That is all.

Things are going well!
March 31st, 2009
Right about now, things are moving along smoothly — both at home and at work.
I made 8 sales yesterday at work, which is pretty damn good for a new guy. And four of those sales were the tougher of the campaigns we work on. I’m in at 4PM today rather than 1PM — going to have to talk to bossman about that because I didn’t sign on for only 4 to 9 shifts… I’m here for full time. This will also make the shifts a little less grueling since I’ll get 4 times the amount of break time, but only 33% more work time.
The frogarium is pretty much done. If I get time before I head off to work, I’m going to start the decorating — which is where all the cool stuff comes in.
Mama Cass II is in the house! Picked her up on Saturday as planned. Pictures coming shortly!
That is all.

I has job
March 27th, 2009
It’s nothing glamourous. I’m working at a call center selling upgraded internet service, home phone, and cable TV services to American customers of Time Warner, Comcast, and a few other like-companies. I’m actually doing fairly well at it.
In other news, the new frogarium is coming along great! I’ll likely be able to finish all the work on it this weekend, however, I’m still going to have to wait for some of the products I’ve used to cure completely. It’ll be a two week waiting period for that one.
If all goes well, tomorrow, Mama Cass will return to me. An adult female White’s Tree Frog is on sale at the PJ’s Pets in the Scarborough Town Center (right across from where I work). I have decided to name her Mama Cass II, in honor of my dearly beloved passed Mama Cass — and cause I like the name.
I do have to go into work tomorrow (Saturday) for 10AM… which means I have to wake up at 8:30. Not really looking forward to being up that early… But I need the hours, because more hours, means more moneys.
That is all for now.

Money, money, money…
March 18th, 2009
That’s what it’s all about isn’t it?
Life would be so much more stress free if money wasn’t a huge concern. I’ve noticed that the days when I feel the least stressed are days that I’ve got money. The problem is that right now those days are few and far between… and when I do get some flow, it goes quickly… mostly to bills that are due — or past due.
I haven’t seen any real solid income in well over 6 months. Not sure how I’ve survived this long, but I think it probably has something to do with the generosity of others.
